Of rearview mirror trinkets....

I was on a tarzhay run the other day, when I glanced over at the car next to me and happened to notice an unusual item hanging from the rearview mirror. A pair of thongs. And I don't mean the show-off-your-pedicure-kind. Now, I hate to think that I've crossed over into the "youngsters, these days!" group of headshaking sticks-in-the-mud, but I must confess the sight of frilly-not-so-tiny panties hanging mid-windshield, and no doubt obstructing the view made me shake my head.

I've seen the gamut of crosses, rosaries, fuzzy dice, fruit shaped air fresheners, CDs (which are to block speed guns or so goes the urban legend), etc... but panties? What is that about?

A quick change in the car?

A memento of vehicular session of bumping uglies?

An alternative to the fruit shaped air freshener?

Or a spare pair in mindful observance of the advice given by mothers the world over "always have clean underwear...in case you're in an accident"

But c'mon, now - seriously?

frustration

If we imagine the shoe to be on the other foot, why do we not act accordingly?

is it time?

A tough night in the NICU. My heart always aches when conditions are such that we have to ask:

have we done all we could do?

is it time to withdraw support?

is this the right thing to do?

and. . . what if ?
